Fall Conditioning Schedule:
(on the Trinity field)
Planning for the 2017 girl’s season is nearing completion. We will be playing in a new varsity league, and we will be requiring players to be at least 6th graders to practice and play on the team. Click Here for an important letter from Coach Weissinger. Please read the information below about the program for this year. If you have any questions, please contact Clay Dean (TCS Athletic Director). My phone number is (334) 745-2464.
Sign-Up Organizational Meeting
There will be an important informational and sign-up meeting (at least 1 parent per family, please) Thursday, December 1, 2016 at TCS in room 212 at 5:30 pm. At that time all forms should be submitted with applicable fees. All forms can be printed out from the sidebar on the left of this webpage. We will be competing in the Georgia Independent Christian Athletic Association (GICAA) league which only sanctions varsity girls’ soccer games. We have a few games scheduled which our younger girls will be able to play in and are working to schedule more.
Forms and Fees
The girls’ soccer registration fee for varsity (7th -12th grade) is $275. For 6th graders it will be $175. A parent of a student not enrolled in TCS will need to turn in an extracurricular programs application with its $25 fee and a $60 per family building and grounds fee. Parents of students not enrolled at TCS will need to have a copy of their child’s birth certificate and annual homeschool records indicating their child’s grade level on file with TCS. Please be prepared to pay, at least, the application fee, and 1st grounds and registration fees at the meeting.
– One time payments are due by January 12th. The registration fee may be divided into 3 monthly payments of $95 and paid by January 12th, February 13th and March 13th. The building and grounds fee may also be divided into 3 monthly payments of $20.
– A waiver form must also be filled out for each player.
– Game uniforms will be issued and must be turned in clean at the end of the season. Those not turning in uniforms by May 11th will be billed $75 per uniform.
– Fees do not include practice shorts and shirts, soccer cleats, shin guards, running shoes, wind suits, food, admission fees, and miscellaneous items.
– Therefore, for each player, a waiver form and registration form must be turned in. In addition, for homeschoolers only, a birth certificate, homeschool records and an extracurricular programs application must be turned in.
Goals and Expectations
The program goals are to develop physical fitness and soccer skills; as well as the Biblical traits of physical stewardship, teamwork, endurance and perseverance in our players. Based on these, we will always strive to practice and compete as a team to the best of our ability at the highest possible level, and whether we win or lose we will honor God. As such, the expectation of each player is that she will participate in all practices and games to the best of her ability.
Eligibility to Practice or Play
Only players who have filled out and turned in all required forms to the TCS office and paid applicable fees will be allowed to practice or play in games.
Duration of Season
The girl’s “season” will begin on Monday, January 12th, end no later than Saturday, May 9th, and last about 16 weeks. The ending date will depend on whether the team makes and progresses in the GICAA playoffs.
Practices will be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 3:15-5:15 pm. 9th-12th graders will be expected to be at 4 functions (practices or games) per week. 6th-8th graders will be expected to be at 3 functions (practices or games) per week, but may attend 4 at the discretion of their parents and the coach.
The age range is 6th-12th grade. Varsity is 9th through 12th grade. JV will be 6th through 8th-10th grade. Some younger players may play on varsity as needed. Girls in kindergarten through 5th grade may participate in the C-team program that will start in late February.
Games will usually be on Tuesday and Friday afternoons (see link to game schedule). There should be about 15 varsity regular season games. An additional 1 to 3 varsity games may be played in the GICAA playoffs if the team qualifies for and progresses through them. We will try to get all players as much playing time as possible.
